In May, Goldini Bagwell released his latest project – a free EP by the name of Secondhand Smoke (available here). Seattle-based producer IG88 remixed the album’s title track which resulted in a stunningly unique and beautiful new song. While the original track featured an active backdrop of futuristic paranoia (courtesy of Pmpee Beats, who produced the entire album), the sparsely melodic remix places more focus on Goldini’s impressive cadences and wordplay. But that isn’t to say that he overshadows the beat; IG88′s jazz/trap hybrid truly shines through while building up and breaking down in all the right places. Rarely does a remix breathe so much new life into a track.
